Environmental Education

2025/2026 Salish Sea Outdoor & Environmental Leadership School:

                                                              Winter 2025/2026 Activist Training Cohort:

Who This Program is For:
College students, age 18 & up, who have interest in or aspirations toward environmental education, outdoor recreation and leadership careers, marine sciences, climate change and everything related.  Receive mentorship from some of the Salish Sea's most inspiring activists, scientists and conservationists.  We welcome participants from any marginalized communities.

What Will the Program Do:
  • From November 2025 - April 2026, we will meet online together in a small cohort of 6-12 people to collectively decide on environmental issues important to our group with which to develop a plan to implement supportive, ecological actions
  • Encourage localized focus for group participants' home communities as well as a cohesive group plan of action
  • Develop our deep listening skills, research brains and habitat connectivity impact assessment abilities to understand, distill, and engage our left brain to chart a course toward critical ecosystem support where it may be weak or missing
  • Work toward our own implementable actions as charted in our group

The program will culminate in a weekend field trip in May 2026 to the San Juan Islands to observe, learn from and participate in Salish Sea coastal ecologies.  Intern credit and community service hours can be earned if desired and validated by On Sacred Ground.
