Ihiya Biological Reserve

Ihiya is a 33 acre preserve on San Juan Island, in the heart of the Trout Lake Watershed.
www.ihiya.org/

Ihiya Biological Reserve is a nonprofit entity incorporated in the state of Washington and On Sacred Ground served as its first fiscal sponsor to help launch the project. It formed for the purpose of protecting an essential wetland.  The land will also support wildlife, human connection to nature, environmental education, and wild herbal medicine. The land is located on  San Juan Island, WA and consists of 33 acres of vital riparian habitat that feeds our precious Salish Sea.

Guided by principles of social permaculture and indigenous ways of knowing, Ihiya is at the forefront of a new approach to sustainability...and we're really exited to share it with you!
